The power of imagery on the web is undeniable. Psychologist Jerome Bruner has uncovered some interesting studies that show while people only remember 10 percent of things they hear and 20 percent of what they have read, around 80 percent of people remember things they see or do.
For churches – it has never been more important to have imagery to support your website content. There’s a range of great sites around that provide free stock imagery (of a really high quality) that you can use as images for blog posts, page illustrations and more – but it’s always been an extra step in the content creation process.
Well not any more. If your church’s website run on WordPress there is now a way to load free stock images from Unsplash (one of the providers of the nicest and prettiest free stock images) directly when editing your content.
Install the free Unsplash WP plugin and you’ll get a great little button that loads the full Unsplash library directly into the editor. Selecting an image loads it straight to your media library so you can include it in your page/post. Brilliant.
It just became a whole lot easier to add awesome free stock photography to your church’s website.
